Gent is a decent place. I am glad I had binoculars to check out the gargoyles on the churches. This town had some nasty (for us) cobbles and bad traffic. It was definitely not a cyclists town anymore! This exposed wall that looks like half of the cathedral has been recently bombed was not an uncommon architectural style here. Perhaps there is a lot of remodelling taking place.
