After a difficult and nasty detour into the Lille area of northern France, my freestyle navigating finally worked out (we didn't have a map of this area). Here I am in front of my goal - the Roubaix velodrome where the final meters of the famous Paris-Roubaix bicycle are ridden. This is one of cyclesports great places. Roubaix, however, is not one of Europe's great places. There is a reason they call it "L'enfere de Nord" (Hell of the north).
